This is a one day, in person creative workshop, exploring the interplay between imaginative writing, embodied movement and intuitive painting.

What to expect:

• A series of guided enquiries and creative prompts to inspire

• Time to explore, respond, express and create

• A balance between structure and free play throughout the day

• An opportunity to meet ourselves through creativity

• Fun with words, paint, mixed media and movement

• Drawing, gestural painting, mark making, creative writing, gentle yoga, movement, rest and relaxation.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for anyone with an interest in arts and embodied presence practice. Those who have a desire to paint, draw, write and move their body and have a curiosity to explore how these modalities can blend and inspire one another. Beginners to more experienced are welcome. You may just want to have some fun and try something new. This course is a great place to start or to continue your creative journey. About Vimmi

Vimmi is a qualified teacher, bodywork therapist and yoga facilitator with over 20 years experience. She is influenced by multiple movement modalities, including yoga, african and bhangra dance,contact improvisation and somatics. She also luxuriates in playing with paint and words. She brings an intuitive, open and light hearted approach to her work, full of curiosity and willingness to be with the sweet mystery.

 
 

About Kate

Kate is a qualified yoga teacher, a lover of movement and a practising contemporary artist. Her adult years learning connection to self, embodied through her Yoga practice, underpin her approach to painting and creativity. Kate meets both life and art from this intuitive place.

She believes we are all artists, we are not separate from our art and through practising art of any kind, we can reconnect to ourselves in a really positive way and enrich our lives.

 

 

Location

We will be hosting the workshop at Kate’s Studio at Webbers Yard in Dartington. There is plenty of space and you will have your own workstation with wall space for putting up your work as you go.

Parking

Meadowbrook carpark and the carparks at the Ciderpress Centre are a 3 minute walk away from the venue. It costs around £5 for the day. Otherwise there can often be empty spaces along the road opposite Webbers Yard Industrial estate.


Accommodation

If you are travelling from afar and need to book somewhere to stay there are a few options in the Dartington area, including air b and b’s, rooms at Dartington Hall and rooms at the Cott Inn. Do let me know if you would like a comprehensive list of places to stay.

Food and refreshments

You can bring a packed lunch or if you prefer to buy something on the day there is a nearby shop as well as Baynards cafe at the nearby Ciderpress centre. A healthy lunch of salad and pasta can be delivered on the day for £10. Let me know in advance if you would like this option. Thanks.
