Portrait Painting Workshop with Laurence Kell

Webbers Yard, Dartington
New Date to be confirmed for Spring 2025

Hosted by an experienced artist/facilitator -Laurence Kell who regularly hosts art workshops in Bristol for RWA.

This workshop will give practical guidance aimed at improving composition, accuracy and observation with a view to producing characterful and expressive drawings. There will be a clothed model for the morning followed by an opportunity to draw portraits of yourself or each other in the afternoon.

Intuitive Painting Workshop
9th and 10th March 2025

A two-day guided weekend workshop offering the opportunity to learn new ways of using acrylic paint on paper and canvas, with the option to also explore using collage, crayon, pens, charcoal and other media. I will take you through some fun, easy exercises to warm up each day. We will experiment and play, practising different ways to use the materials to create a variety of effects. We will also use different tools to achieve a range of mark making and pattern.

GESTURE AND SCRIBE - Art, Movement and Word

With Kate Bosence and Vimmi Vatish

This is a one day, in person creative workshop, exploring the interplay between imaginative writing, embodied movement and intuitive painting.

What to expect:

• A series of guided enquiries and creative prompts to inspire • Time to explore, respond, express and create

• A balance between structure and free play throughout the day

• An opportunity to meet ourselves through creativity

• Fun with words, paint, mixed media and movement

You will experience a mix of intuitive drawing, gestural painting, interesting mark making, creative writing, gentle yoga, dance, free movement, easeful rest and relaxation.
